Yesterday Sony Ericsson announced its HBH-200 wireless headset at the Dream World tradeshow in Paris.
Sony Ericsson officials say that the headset will work with most Bluetooth enabled phones. Basically, it has an earpiece connected by a wire to a device about the size of a tie clip. The microphone is embedded in the wire. To make a call you can either scroll through the to the number you want on the tiny display or use voice recognition.
The device will use the phone in your bag or pocket to make the call. Such devices have always been touted as the one of the main reasons for putting Bluetooth in mobile phones. But there are plenty of others on the market from companies such as Nokia, Motorola, and Plantronics. So whatís the big deal? Industrial design. This one looks cool and is less cumbersome than the competition. On the other hand, itís not out until the fourth quarter and the company has not yet announced pricing.
