Mobile Games Worth USD 1 billion in 2004?

Mobile gaming will be big, but that big? Yes, says one consultant.

London Games Week kicked off this week, with a bunch of trade and public events. Robert Tercek, a mobile content consultant (and formerly an exec at Packet Video), told a crowd of developers that the mobile gaming market would be worth USD 1 billion in 2004. I thought the bubble bursting killed off a lot of these overly optimistic predictions, but I guess not. But will people really shell out for mobile games when they can play Snake for free?

BTW, Games Week also features the Vodafone Live! Arcade and the first UK mobile gaming championships.
