Jeff Goldman writes: "The Scandinavian Göteborgs-Posten today published what may have been the first ever newspaper photograph taken by a mobile phone."
Jeff's write-up continues: A wonderful example of wireless technology empowering people in a way that wasn't previously possible:As noted by Steve Outing in Poytner Online, a photo snapped by a reporter using his mobile phone was used instead of one taken by a staff photographer, for one simple reason: the reporter arrived on the scene half an hour before the photographer did.
Because of the quality of the photo, the print edition was forced to used the photographer's version-- but the web edition continues to use the photo from the mobile phone.
As the technology improves, it won't be long before there's no noticeable difference in quality between the two. From moblogs to newspaper photos taken with mobile phones, how much of a transformation can we except mobile phones to bring about in the way news is delivered?
