Just a couple of weeks after bagging a billion-dollar deal with Verizon, Nortel wins a 3G supply deal with Orange, and it looks big.
Nortel confirmed that it's been selected by Orange to provide gear for the European carrier's 3G network, and rumors that the deal could be worth between 800 million and 1 billion euros sent the company's shares soaring.
Orange also named Alcatel and Nokia as its other 3G suppliers, and said the value of the equipment and services it would order from each company were still to be determined.
